Introduction

Tully Inc. ("Tully," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Personal Information

Name, email address, phone number, and billing information that you voluntarily provide when creating an account, initiating a consultation, or contacting us.

Legal Inquiry Data

The legal questions, descriptions, and related information you submit through our AI matching system. This data is processed to identify the appropriate legal category, jurisdiction, and urgency for matching purposes.

Usage Data

Device information, IP address, browser type, pages visited, session duration, and interactions with our Platform collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.

Communication Data

Messages exchanged between you and legal professionals through our Platform, session recordings (if applicable), and any feedback or reviews you provide.

Files and Media

Documents, images, and voice recordings you upload to a consultation or to your case vault, together with the file name, type, and size. Uploaded files are stored with our file-storage provider and are accessible to you and to the legal professional on that matter.

Approximate Location

When you create an account we derive an approximate location — your U.S. state and city — from your IP address, and store it along with that IP address. Tully uses this to apply the right state's law to your question and to help match you with a legal professional licensed where you are. Tully does not request or use your device's precise location, and the app does not access location services.

Sensitive Information

Legal questions are open-ended, and what you write may reveal sensitive details — an immigration status, a health condition, a criminal matter, a family situation. We do not ask for these categories and we do not use them for profiling or advertising, but we treat anything you tell us about your legal problem as sensitive, and it is processed as described in this policy — including by our AI provider where you use an AI feature. Share only what you are comfortable sharing.

How We Use Your Information

  • To match you with qualified legal professionals based on your inquiry
  • To process payments and manage your account
  • To improve and personalize your experience on our Platform
  • To communicate with you about your account, sessions, and updates
  • To analyze usage patterns and improve our AI matching algorithms
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and technical problems
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service

AI Processing

Our Platform uses third-party artificial intelligence services (currently OpenAI) to power features such as legal-issue categorization, the legal assistant, consultation summaries, legal professional profile building, scheduling by voice or text, and voice transcription, and to screen messages exchanged in chats for abuse, threats, and other content that violates our terms. Depending on the feature you use, the content you provide — including the text of your legal question, uploaded documents, images, and voice recordings — is sent to our AI provider for processing. We limit what is sent to the content necessary for that feature and do not use it to build advertising profiles. Our AI provider does not use this data to train its models, and AI-generated outputs are used solely to deliver the feature you requested. The app asks for your permission before the first time an AI-powered feature sends your content to our AI provider, and you can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings → Data & Privacy, which turns those features off. Automated safety screening of chat messages is part of how we keep the Platform safe and applies to all messages sent through it.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information with:

  • Attorneys: Matched legal professionals receive relevant details about your inquiry to provide legal services.
  • Service Providers: Vendors who operate parts of the Platform on our behalf, each receiving only what their function requires: Clerk (accounts and authentication), Stripe (payment processing — your full card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers), Twilio (SMS verification), Cloudinary (storage of documents and images you upload), Agora (voice and video calls), OpenAI (AI features, described above), and our hosting and error-monitoring providers.
  • Legal Compliance: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest, access controls, and regular security audits. Communications between you and legal professionals on our Platform are encrypted in transit and at rest. They are not end-to-end encrypted: Tully can access message content in order to operate the service, including safety and moderation checks and, where you use our AI features, generating responses. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We may also retain and use your information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can delete your account and associated data yourself at any time, from inside the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. You do not need to contact us to do it, and we do not require a reason. If you cannot reach the in-app control, email support@meettully.com from the address on your account and we will do it for you.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your account and your data yourself, from Settings in the app
Object to data processing
Data portability
Withdraw consent

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@meettully.com.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience, analyze site traffic, and understand where our visitors are coming from. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit certain functionality of our Platform.

Children's Privacy

Our Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically for any changes.
